The Revista de Ciências Farmacêuticas Básica e Aplicada (Journal of Basic and Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences) (Online ISSN 2179-443X) is an Open Access journal published by Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas, Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP. Articles are published in a continuous publishing model and collected in an annual volume. Accepted manuscripts will be published in English and contributions must be submitted in English.

The journal title to be used in the article citations is “Revista de Ciências Farmacêuticas Básica e Aplicada”, or "Rev Ciênc Farm Básica Apl" in its abbreviated form.

Mission and Scope 

The journal aims at publishing multidisciplinary and original basic and applied research works from all fields related to the pharmaceutical sciences. The journal expects contributions to come from the national and international scientific community.

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative) definition of open access. Accepted articles will be published as Open Access and distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. The authors of accepted manuscripts retain shared copyright and agree to have it published by the journal under the Creative Commons Attribution License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Under this Open Access license, the author agrees that anyone can reuse their article in whole or part for any purpose, for free, even for commercial purposes. Anyone may copy, distribute, or reuse the content as long as the author and original source are properly cited, but not in any way that suggests that the authors endorse them or their use of the work.

Editorial Policies

General Policies

The journal supports the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors guidelines on editorial independence, the publication best practices code by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the EQUATOR network checklists and advice for good research reporting.

Authors should ensure that manuscripts submitted to the journal have not been previously submitted or published elsewhere. The authors are fully responsible for the content of their papers. The journal uses the similarity checking software Turnitin on received manuscripts.

Article Processing Charges

The journal does not charge submission fees. However, since the publication of the current Editorial Policies, on September 11, 2020, manuscripts that are accepted must collect an Article Processing Change (APC) before they are cleared for publication. The APC values¹ are shown below:

  • 700.00 (BRL) Corresponding authors based in Brazil;
  • 250.00 (USD) Corresponding authors based abroad.

¹ the APC does not include language revision or copyediting services which, if required, are the authors responsibility.
